After living the last 8 years in Spain, I decided to move to Germany, where my daughter and her family live. I have been working on this for about the last year and now it was time to live out my next dream of life 😀
By my daughter Claire’s help, I found a nice place to live and close to, where Claire is living, for which I feel very grateful. Claire is doing all she can to help me feel welcome and wished for in my new house and area.
Now I see my both my daughter and my granddaughters almost every day, which are luxury compared to the last 8 years in Spain. I have missed my family so very much in this time, but that was also a dream, as I decided to live out.
Remember to dream and to live out your dreams, then there are less to regret later in life ❤

I am just now beginning to catch up with every one Irene. I saw today that you lost your Mom in February and am so very sorry to see that. It has been five years now since my Mom passed away and I still miss her all the time. I’ve even dialed her phone number to ask a question about one of her recipes or how she made certain things that I was going to try. . It’s something that takes a long, long time to fully understand and that you only learn to live with it but never get over it.
I see that you are now living in Germany, and are near your daughter and granddaughter. I’m so happy for you. I love Germany and my family roots are in Bavaria in the shadow of the Zugspitze. If some day you meet someone named Goetz, you could very well be meeting one of my family. If I could live anywhere but here I think it would be Germany, although I could also be happy in Canada or Ireland. I become more disenchanted with this country by the day, but haven’t given up hope for it just yet.

I don’t remember the name of the gasthaus we stayed in when we were in Bavaria but the owner said she bought it from a Goetz family. My spelling might be off but I think the village is Bertchesgaden. I didn’t want to leave there. We watched the geese paddle down the stream behind our room and the cows being taken out to the meadow every morning and then coming home in the afternoon. I fell in love with that area and got the feeling from talking to my cousin that some of our family members were from that area.
Times are rough now but it’s been worse so I can handle it okay. The being alone is the hardest part but I have my dolls to dress for some little girls who need them and the quilts for my kids to finish so the day goes by quickly. Hard to believe it was a bit over 6 months ago when I broke my leg. Time passes swiftly and some day this too will pass.
Enjoy your family time now because those babies grow up so fast. Hugs
