My life now


If you are a regular follower of my blog, you will know, that I love my family and my fur kids

Odin, my dear boy

Today I have some not so good news. My dog Odin had surgery last Monday to get removed a tumor in his mouth. Today I received the answer of the analyze of the tumor

Today Odin becomes 7 years old and today I was told, that he has an aggressive form of cancer, as already now might have damaged his brain

After much thinking, I do see signs, that he has changed his behavior through some time now. I thought of this as his age, his illness of Hip Dysplasia etc. but I didn’t mind, that this could be the results of cancer, as reason for his behavior

Unfortunately, this is the truth. This is really hard to write about, as I really love my animals, just like they were my human kids

Odin is my only dog and the only kid, as I have left in my home. I will need to send him in front of me in very short time, even if I had the hope to bring him with me to Germany, when I move to there

Last year, I needed to send my two old cats in front of me, which I wrote about here: Rainbow Bridge

After a not so happy year in 2019, I received the best gift in the end of the year, which I wrote about here: Positive News

Right now I just feel very sad, as I did hope to be able to bring my Odin to Germany in my next move, which I work hard to get fulfilled, but no…

I’m sorry, if I miss some of your posts at the moment, but this situation I don’t wish for anybody to go through

Sunny Day in Spain

It is warm summer in Spain now. July and August are hot here. I use to walk early morning with Odin, before it gets to warm

Then our late walk in the evening, as I don’t want Odin to burn his paws. In the winter we use to walk more times, but that’s not possible now

Yesterday, we had another walk in the area, where Odin could have some freedom and run and just being free to smell everything, which he loves

Odin got an eye on a rabbit here, but he listened, when I told him not to hunt for it

Mostly here are yellow now, we don’t receive much rain here and not enough for the areas to stay green for more, than in the spring

I asked Odin to stay calm, so I could get a nice photo, he agreed 😀

A walk in our new area


Odin

Odin enjoyed a bit of freedom

My last blog post is from the autumn last year, so thought it might be time with a little update today. Thank you for your kind patience

I moved to a new place last in December 2018, about 400 km more south in Spain and into a city in Murcia area

The photos as you see here are from our new area a little away from our place, until now the only place, where Odin can get a little freedom from the leash

Almond 1

Our Almond Trees are blooming now. I hope, they didn’t get the freezing, while here were very cold in the nights. If so, we will get less almonds this year

Blooming Almond Flowers. They are so beautiful and seen in several colors from pure white to heavy pink. They smell so good

Dear Reader


My dog Odin has been ill since before Easter, which have given me much stress by time and because we couldn’t get a diagnose. We are still not sure about that, but should get more to know this week.

Odin got some new medication last week and it seems to work, he is not bleeding now. This gave me some peace in mind and just enough for my health to react. I went down with a virus and have used mostly of my time in my bed since Friday.

When I woke up today, I started feeling better, so I hope it will be better from now.

I have asked for your patience several times in this period and now I will need more time to get a change to catch up at your blogs. I’m still tired and need to find my energy again.

NB: My dog Odin is still very ill and he is bleeding much longer time, than expected. My vet is doing his best to find out why, but this is not an easy case. Until now all usual and known illnesses for dog are excluded

Thank you for your patience, I haven’t been much around at your blogs for a while, but I use mostly of my time to take care of Odin. I will visit, when I find time and abundance

Odin, Hvide & Bølle


Odin

Odin is now on the right way to get healthy again. Today has been a very good day for him. Yesterday we needed that the vet visited us again, because Odin was bleeding for hours. As you can see, he is very tired and sleep mostly of the time. Now he just need to sleep to heal best possible

Just before Odin got ill, I started to create some new blankets first for the cats and then a new bed for Odin. I ended this today and when I showed him my gift, he answered by walking directly and lay down at this

Hvide

As you know, I love to experiment and found this materials in the city, as I haven’t worked with for many years. Hvide (White) was the first to find this new basket and he have been using many hours there since. I made the cats baskets with a side around, because they love to use a pillow for their heads

Bølle

Bølle (Bully) became very happy, when he found the next basket, which is a little smaller than the other. I did expect them to exchange baskets, because the baskets are made to fit one big and one small cat 🙂 They did not agree…..

Update at Odin

A spring photo of Odin, where he is happy and feeling good. He is not looking so happy today

Odin started last week to bleed from one side of his nose. Then our vet took blood tests to find out the reason for this. He found out, that Odin had an infection and otherwise his blood test looked good. There were no indications for other illnesses. Odin got 2 kind of medication and we hoped the best. The vet told me, that Odin could continue the bleeding until Monday

In the weekend, Odin started to bleed from his nose many, many times. I did my best to stop it and to keep him calm. Didn’t leave him alone at all, because he was scared, when he started to bleed, which I found understandable

It became worse and worse and more often with the bleeding, so I contacted the vet again and Odin got more tests and X-ray and needed then to go to another Vet Hospital for Endoscopy and other kind of tests, which happened yesterday. Two times of sedation in one day can be a little tough, so our Vet decided to keep him in the clinic last night to secure, they could help him, if anything would happen

I’m happy to be able to say, that nothing bad happened. Now we know, that Odin has an infection in one side of his nose and they took more blood tests today to find out, why he got the infection from beginning, to avoid this to be repeated. We should get these answers Friday

Odin came home in the afternoon, happy to be home again and I was very happy to see him again. He is now very tired and I will need to keep him as calm as possible for the next 2 weeks. No long walks and nothing exciting, because this can start his bleeding again. I got new medication for him and need to give him an injection daily to avoid more bleeding the next days

Odin has been shaved many places in the last week, so I decided to share a more happy photo of him

Walk in Spain in April – 9 Photos

We have lots of Borage in natural areas, where no one take care any longer

I did grow Borage, while I lived in Denmark. I used the beautiful blue flowers in salad, they are eatable and taste good. More than that, they are also nutritious

I find these Borage so beautiful, they show clearly the spring is arrived here, even we have grey clouds at the sky today. I will not complain, we have had beautiful sunshine and warm weather for a while now and I do often enjoy my food outside in the midday

There are many Wild Flowers in these areas and I love to see them blooming, all look so promising with hopes for long and sunny days
